The ABB SM812 High Integrity (HI) controller is part of the ABB Ability™ System 800xA platform, designed for safety-critical applications up to SIL3. It supervises PM857, PM863, and PM867 CPUs during SIL1-2 operations and, in redundant 1oo2 configuration, provides SIL3 compliance. It supports hot swap, redundancy, and seamless upgrades with a dedicated synchronization link.
