Product Introduction
The ProSoft MVI69-FLN is a FL-net network interface communication module designed for Rockwell Automation CompactLogix and MicroLogix processors. This single-slot module enables seamless communication with FL-net protocol-compatible devices, following the FL-net version 2.00 (OPCN-2) specification defined by JEMA (Japan Electrical Manufacturers Association) for factory automation (FA) control networks.
As a gateway, the MVI69-FLN interfaces between the FL-net network and the CompactLogix/MicroLogix backplane. It facilitates asynchronous data transfer, ensuring that operations on the FL-net network and PLC actions remain decoupled, maintaining reliable communication without interfering with network timing.
The module manages Area 1 and Area 2 cyclic data, network data, and module status information through its internal database. It enables peer-to-peer communication on FL-net, where all devices share two fixed-size databases. The MVI69-FLN accepts commands to monitor, control, and transfer this data between the FL-net network and the PLC processor, allowing users to implement high-performance automation applications efficiently.
