Product Introduction
The Allen-Bradley 2094-BSP2 Kinetix 6000 Shunt Module is an auxiliary power dissipation module designed for use in Kinetix 6000, 6200, and 6500 servo drive systems. Its primary function is to provide additional shunt energy absorption capacity when the internal shunt capability of the Integrated Axis Module (IAM) or Axis Module (AM) is insufficient.
In regenerative braking conditions, servo motors can feed energy back into the DC bus. If this energy is not properly dissipated, it may cause overvoltage faults or system instability. The 2094-BSP2 addresses this issue by safely converting excess regenerative energy into heat through an external shunt resistor assembly.
This module is typically used in high-inertia or high-deceleration applications where frequent braking events generate significant regenerative energy. By adding 200 W of external shunt capacity, it improves system stability and protects drive components from overvoltage conditions.
The unit is designed for integration into Kinetix multi-axis architectures and operates on 400/460 VAC systems.
